The IT@Cork RSS for non-techies event which I organised was held last night in the National Software Centre.
A surprisingly large crowd attended (surprising to me, at any rate – I didn’t expect a many people to have an interest in RSS!). I spoke for about 45 minutes and there were quite a few questions afterwards which is always a good sign.
I’m planning on having a second RSS event in Jan/Feb and I hope to have speakers there from companies who develop RSS applications – I’m hoping to get speakers from Microsoft, Nooked and, possibly NewsGator. We’ll see how that works out. If last night’s event was anything to go by, there should be a lot of interest.
I recorded the talk and questions onto a mini-disc and I hope to put an mp3 of the talk live in the next day or so, so do check back. I will update this post with the address of the mp3 and I will post it on my own blog as well.
A 2.7mb pdf copy of my presentation is available for download from the RSS Event page on the IT@Cork site and also from my own blog.
Thanks, as always, to Catherine Wall for all the help organising (and tidying up!).
UPDATE:
A podcast of this event is now available for download here (10.5mb mp3).
